Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold

A golden IPA for a chilly Northern day!

A good head on this one.  At 4.5% it doesn't feel like an IPA and has a nice strong taste almost as if you are drinking molten gold itself.  It does have a slight hoppy aftertaste but I put that down to the 4.5%.  It has bursting, almost fruity, bubbles on the tongue and a light head that lasts almost to the last mouthful.

Marston's Pedigree

From the label: Pedigree is the last remaining beer still brewed using the Burton Union System, giving the beer its unique taste and flavour.

A lovely amber glow with a crisp taste and no nasty aftertaste, along with a nice fizzy sensation on the tongue.  Quick, take a photo before the head disappears!
Pedigree is one of my old favourites and I can never resist it when I see it on draught.

Banks's Bitter

Saturday lunchtime beverage.

Banks's Bitter - a lovely dark golden bitter with a traditional beery taste, thanks to the Fuggles and Goldings hops.  I managed to pour it with a little head but this quickly disappeared.  It has quite a strong aftertaste, reminiscent of Stones, and it has an intense bursting of bubbles on the tongue.

Fire Eater

Friday night whisky with cinnamon.  An acquired taste but a nice winter warmer.  Well the temperature has dropped a few degrees, so I don't see why not!

It's not as firey as the name suggests, but it has a definite taste of cinnamon.  Not like Jelly Belly cinnamon but a nice warming glow.
